The District of Columbia is the federal capital of the United States of America. Think Washington, D.C. and you think of the government, the White House and Congress. However, the Nation's Capital is much more than just the political process. While the heart of our country does beat proudly on the Potomac River between Virginia and Maryland, Washington, D.C. is also a dynamic community full of art, theatre, music, entertainment, history, culture, sports, education and diverse housing. Not much more than a bog 200 years ago, the District of Columbia today is host to world-class museums, green parks, monumental architecture and affordable housing in more than 120 different neighborhoods.
