While Frisco has experienced tremendous growth - doubling in size over the past five years - the city has done an excellent job of managing growth and assuring an excellent quality of life for
its residents today and in the future with great real estate including lands, houses and homes for sale. The city has 19 park sites, spanning more than 550 acres that provide a variety of activities for the entire family. Soccer fields; baseball diamonds; basketball, tennis and volleyball courts; and playground equipment are available at several parks. The Warren Sports Complex also offers an eight-acre lake recently restocked with black bass and channel catfish.
Swimming is available year-round from the neighborhood pools in many communities to the municipal pool located at Youth Center Park and indoors at the natatorium located on the Preston Ridge Campus in Alumni Hall. Hike and bike trails are located in Oakbrook Park, Shawnee Trail, Preston Lakes Linear Park, Starwood Development Trail, and Warren Sports Complex. The area is also home to some of the finest golf courses as excellent real estate in the state. The cultural arts continue to take center stage in the activities of Frisco's Association For The Arts. The association recently announced the addition of Symphonia Frisco as its newest member. Symphonia Frisco fully embodies the vision established by the Association for the Arts for the cultural arts community. Symphonia Frisco serves as an umbrella organization to create local adult orchestra, chamber groups and a youth orchestra. Each year, the association sponsored a number of events to increase the awareness of arts in Frisco. Perhaps the most successful of the events was the Holiday Pops Concert that featured the Frisco Chorale performing with the Plano Symphony Orchestra. The city is also home to the Frisco Community Theater, a local theatrical troupe presents drama, comedy, children's theater, and musicals of well-known favorites and original productions. In addition, 23 museums, 56 galleries, 22 theatrical centers, four orchestral organizations, four ballet groups and two opera associations that provide over 100 live performances nightly are all within a short drive.
